5-hour route — Bol and Zečevo from Makarska
Don't have a full day for the islands? Five hours of rental is often enough for Zlatni rat and Blue Lagoon — below is one suggested route.
Last updated: June 2026.
The full 3-island route (Bol, Zečevo, Vrboska, Pakomina) works best with full-day rental 09:00–18:00. If you only have half a day, below is a suggested 5-hour rental focused on two popular stops — not a mandatory route, you can adapt it.
Your route: With speedboat rental you choose where you go. The description in this guide is only a suggestion — you can skip stops, add other coves or stay longer at one place. With a skipper you agree on the plan together before departure.
Example 5-hour route — suggestion
One of the most common choices for guests who have half a day:
- Makarska — departure and briefing in harbour
- Bol (Zlatni rat) — swimming and walk along the shore
- Zečevo (Blue Lagoon) — longer stop in a clear cove
- Return to Makarska
Without Vrboska and Pakomina you travel at a calmer pace and spend more time in the sea — ideal for families with children or guests boating for the first time.
Price and costs
- Jeanneau Cap Camarat: from €150 / 5 hours (€180 in July and August)
- BMA X222: from €180 / 5 hours (€210 in peak season)
- Skipper: +€100 (in addition to rental price)
- Fuel: not included — paid by consumption, with or without skipper. On this route around 35–45 litres
- Deposit: €50 (paid in advance, deducted from the rental price — not refunded separately)
With skipper or self-drive
For your first time at sea or without a licence, rental with skipper is the simplest option. Experienced boat drivers can go alone after a short briefing in harbour — more in the first rental guide.
Tip: Leave early in the morning (e.g. 09:00) to avoid crowds at anchorages and enjoy calmer sea.
