Blue Lagoon (Zečevo) — crystal-clear sea from Makarska
Small Zečevo island near Brač offers some of the clearest sea on this part of the Adriatic. A popular stop suggestion when renting a speedboat.
Last updated: June 2026.
Blue Lagoon on Zečevo island (near Brač) is known for turquoise, crystal-clear water. It is often the second or third stop in the 3-island route suggestion and a popular stop on the 5-hour route suggestion — but you choose the route.
Your route: Zečevo is a suggestion for swimming and snorkelling, not a mandatory destination. You can include it in your plan, skip it or replace it with another cove. With a skipper you agree on the route together before departure.
What a visit looks like
Zečevo has no large tourist centre — the focus is on swimming, snorkelling with a mask and relaxing at anchor. The water is shallow and warm, suitable for children under adult supervision.
When and how long to stay
- We recommend 1–2 hours for swimming and rest
- Afternoons can be crowded — morning arrival is calmer
- In strong wind anchoring can be uncomfortable — the skipper assesses conditions
Getting there from Makarska
Zečevo is only reachable by speedboat rental (with skipper +€100 or self-drive with licence). The group 3-hour scenic trip does not go to the islands.
On the full 3-island route suggestion after Zečevo many guests continue towards Vrboska on Hvar — known as Little Venice — and Pakomina before returning to Makarska. That is only one possible plan.
Costs
Jeanneau rental from €150 / 5 hours, BMA from €180 / 5 hours. Fuel on the full route around 60 litres; on the 5-hour route less. Deposit €50 is paid in advance and deducted from the rental price — not refunded separately.
Before departure: Bring sunscreen, water and sun protection — there is no shade on the boat at anchor.
