Zlatni rat (Bol) by speedboat from Makarska

The Adriatic's most famous beach within reach by speedboat. Here is how to fit it into a rental day or 3-island route.

Last updated: June 2026.

Zlatni rat in Bol on Brač is one of the most requested stops for guests who rent a speedboat in Makarska. It is not part of the group scenic trip — you can only get there by rental or private tour by agreement. You decide whether to stop in Bol at all — this is a suggestion, not a mandatory stop.

Your route: Speedboat rental is not a fixed tour. Zlatni rat is a popular stop suggestion, but you choose the route — you can stay only in Bol, combine with other locations or pick a completely different plan. With a skipper you agree together before departure.

How to get there from Makarska

The crossing takes roughly 45–60 minutes by speedboat, depending on boat and sea conditions. Zlatni rat is often the first stop in the 3-island route suggestion and a popular stop on the 5-hour route suggestion — but it is not mandatory.

What to expect in Bol

  • Crescent-shaped beach — famous for its changing shape due to currents
  • Swimming, walk along the shore and a short lunch in Bol centre possible
  • Summer can be busy — we recommend an earlier arrival (morning)

Anchoring and safety

At the anchorage near the beach watch depth and other boats. If you rent with a skipper, they choose a safe anchorage and monitor the weather forecast. Without a skipper, the harbour briefing includes basic anchoring tips.

Rental price

A visit to Zlatni rat alone is possible with rental of at least 5 hours: Jeanneau from €150, BMA from €180, plus fuel (paid by consumption). Deposit €50 is paid in advance and deducted from the rental price — not refunded separately. Skipper +€100 — fuel is paid separately with skipper too.

Combination: After Bol continue towards the Blue Lagoon on Zečevo for a full day of island hopping.
